Mr. Gaurav Jain, Advocate, comes from a family of eminent Judges and Jurists. In
order to perpetuate the memory of his grandfather, the Late Justice J.P. Jain, Gaurav
has decided to publish lectures delivered by his father Justice N.K. Jain, former
Chief Justice of Madras and Karnataka High Courts and presently the Chairman of the Rajasthan Human Rights Commission.
The lectures delivered by eminent Judges, like Justice
N.K. Jain, have always formed part of legal history and jurisprudence. For, such
lectures expound the law, explain the mysteries of the legal world both to the layman
and to the legal fraternity. Some of the lectures, such as lectures delivered by
Justice Oliver Holmos have become legendary.
I am sure the lectures delivered by
Justice Jain would present a new interpretation of the law. Publication of such
lectures is a welcome step to the growing legal literature in our country.
The memories of legal stalwarts like Late Justice J.P.
Jain need to be cherished and preserved and perpetuated. I would like to congratulate
Gaurav for the maiden venture in publication of this series of lectures. I hope,
Gaurav will continue to add significant nuggets to legal literature and the future
as well.
